  • Prenatal Support

    Planning to breastfeed and want to get off to the best possible start? A prenatal breastfeeding consultation is an excellent way to prepare—especially if you’ve experienced challenges with breastfeeding in the past, or simply want to feel confident and informed before baby arrives.

    Prenatal Lactation Consult – $225
    (Available virtually or in-office | 1 - 1.5 hours)

    Your personalized prenatal visit includes:

    A full maternal health history and feeding goals

    Tailored prenatal breastfeeding education based on your unique needs and concerns

    Topics may include: what to expect in the first hours and days, how to initiate breastfeeding, what’s normal vs. when to seek help, milk supply basics, and preparing to pump (if needed)

    A written plan to follow during your birth and immediate postpartum period

    This is a supportive, judgment-free space to ask questions, talk through previous experiences, and get clear, evidence-based guidance before your baby arrives.

    Cancellation Policy:
    Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice are subject to a $50 fee. This fee is not covered by insurance. It will be charged to the credit card on file, or an online invoice will be sent for payment.

  • Breastfeeding Support

    Our postpartum lactation consultations provide compassionate, evidence-based support for breastfeeding parents from birth through weaning.

    What’s Included in Your Initial Consultation ($225):

    Complete maternal and infant health history

    Pre- and post-feeding weight checks to assess milk transfer

    Flange sizing and pumping support (if needed)

    A personalized, written lactation care plan

    A detailed report shared with your healthcare provider

    Two weeks of follow-up support via phone and email

    Follow-Up Visit ($150):
    Ongoing care for continued success—perfect for fine-tuning feeding techniques, adjusting pump settings, or managing changes in milk supply.

    Common Issues We Address:

    -Low or oversupply of milk

    -Weight gain concerns

    -Sore, cracked, or bleeding nipples

    -Breast refusal or bottle refusal

    -Latch difficulties

    -Tongue and Lip Tie concerns

    -Clogged ducts and mastitis symptoms

    -Infant gut health concerns (gassiness, reflux, colic, food intolerances)

    -Pumping schedules and return-to-work planning

    -Weaning

    Home Visit Option:
    We offer in-home lactation visits for newborns up to 4 weeks old for initial consultations only.

    $50 convenience fee applies to all home visits

    Additional travel fee applies for locations beyond 15 miles from our St. Charles office

    All follow-up visits are held in-office

Be By Baby partners with third-party insurance billers to provide insurance-covered lactation support—at no cost to you for virtual or in-office visits.

Please note while most insurance plans are covered, there are exceptions even within plans. If your insurance plan isn’t eligible, we offer self-pay options and can provide a superbill for possible reimbursement.
